Frequently Asked Questions?

How often and how long are the sessions?
Sessions are usually on the same day each week and last 50 minutes.

How much does it cost?
I charge £50 per session which is payable by BACS before the session.
Cancellation policy: I ask that you give me a week's notice.

(Concessionary places are sometimes available, for those on low incomes or students, please ask)

Counselling or Psychotherapy?
Counselling tends to be shorter term and relate to a specific problem and lasts for a period of weeks or months.

Psychotherapy deals with deeper, often historical issues and is usually longer term.

Counsellors and psychotherapists have different backgrounds and training which is important, however, research shows that the most important factor is the quality of the relationship between the Client and the Therapist.

What is the next step?
You can contact me by phone or email to find out more or to arrange an initial exploratory session. (Please mention which practice: Christchurch or Winchester).

This first session is for us to meet each other and see whether I can offer you the support that you need and for you to see if you feel comfortable to work with me. We can then make arrangements for further sessions or you can think further, you are under no obligation to proceed.

I look forward to hearing from you.
